In Covid-19 a huge number of divorces are reported in the USA and also it can be seen that the child custody cases are increasing. The reason is the following;

High Conflict:

Most cases that are reported in 2021 are due to the high conflict between couples. Due to this pandemic and lockdown, the couples live 24 hours with each other with a lot of stress i.e. financial problems, medical issues, etc. These things increase the conflict between the couples and it is the biggest reason for divorce and definitely after divorce help to increase the number of child custody cases.

Child Custody mentally and physically affects the children. A child always wants to live with both parents and share love and care with them but after child custody, it affects the mental and physical growth of the child. The most important issues after child custody are the following;

Parental Alienation:

In Parental Alienation, one parent mentally manipulates the child and forces the child to hate the other parent. It is the most important issue after child custody. The parent who has custody of the child can easily put anything in the mind of the child. When a parent repeats the same thing for 24 hours then it will automatically make a place in the mind of the child and he will start to believe in it. Due to Parental Alienation, the child is not ready to meet or talk about the other parent.

Emotional Trauma:

Emotional Trauma means is damage or injury to the psyche after living through an extremely frightening or distressing event. It is the biggest issue after child custody. The child suffers from emotional trauma as he is unable to live freely, share love with both parents at the same place. The separation between the parents damages the child mentally and physically and increases emotional trauma.

The Child Custody Cases are rapidly increasing in 2021. Child Custody means ‘who will have the legal responsibilities and custody of the child’. It can be a mother or father. Child Custody is the most important element of the divorce settlement, most couples decide it with their mutual consent and understanding. In case of any conflict, parents file the ‘Child Custody’ case in the family court. The court checks the arguments, facts of both parties, and most importantly the personal interest of the child before making any decision. If both parents are financially independent and able to take responsibility, then the court can give judgment of Equal Parenting. Equal Parenting means both parents have equal responsibilities towards the child. They both will afford financial expenditures and other parental responsibilities. The period of custody of a child can be settled between the parents. For example in a week three days for the father and four days for the mother, etc. Equal Parenting gives equal rights to both parents of living, expenditures i.e. educational expenses, living expenses, etc. Both parents cooperate to give the best future to their child.
